Accelerator Applications
The division was organized to promote the advancement of knowledge of the use of particle accelerator technologies for nuclear and other applications. It focuses on production of neutrons and other particles, utilization of these particles for scientific or industrial purposes, such as the production or destruction of radionuclides significant to energy, medicine, defense or other endeavors, as well as imaging and diagnostics.

Securing the advanced reactor fleet
Physical protection accounts for a significant portion of a nuclear power plant’s operational costs. As the U.S. moves toward smaller and safer advanced reactors, similar protection strategies could prove cost prohibitive. For tomorrow’s small modular reactors and microreactors, security costs must remain appropriate to the size of the reactor for economical operation.

General Dylewski is President and CEO of Patriot Solutions Intl, a SDVOSB (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business) providing government and commercial clients with executable solutions including analysis, test and evaluation; training; engineering services and energy security. General Dylewski also serves as Senior Mentor, National Security Space Institute and Consultant, INL (Idaho National Lab), focusing on advanced nuclear energy capabilities and their applicability to national security requirements. Prior to founding Patriot, General Dylewski was Vice President, Strategic Planning for URS Federal Services, Science and Engineering Technology Group, focusing primarily on the DoD and NASA markets. He also spent two years as the Director, Strategic Initiatives for Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Solutions (IS&S). General Dylewski is the former Distinguished Visiting Scholar in the Center for Character Development at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Before entering the corporate world, General Dylewski spent 27 years in the Air Force in a variety of assignments in Tactical Aviation, Space Operations, Staff and Command billets. He also served as the Air Force Aide to Presidents Reagan and Bush. The General was commissioned in 1974 through the ROTC program at Kent State University. He commanded the 90th Fighter Squadron and served as Joint Director of Operations for Alaskan Command at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. He also served as the Commandant of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada; commanded the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; the 1st Fighter Wing at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia; and the Space Warfare Center at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. He was assigned as Director of Operations, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, before finishing his career as the Commander 9th Aerospace Expeditionary Task Force, Southwest Asia, and Deputy Combined Forces Air Component Commander (DCFACC), Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).
