The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is developing preliminary plans for a full-scale spent nuclear fuel cask demonstration – a first of its kind in the United States. The panelists will discuss options for the project, including types of demonstrations that could be conducted, anticipated outcomes, and how lessons learned from international tests and previous scale tests have been incorporated into the preliminary plans. The panelists also will discuss how DOE has engaged stakeholders and integrated their feedback throughout the process, including preliminary feedback from a recent Request for Information.
