This division promotes the development and timely introduction of fusion energy as a sustainable energy source with favorable economic, environmental, and safety attributes. The division cooperates with other organizations on common issues of multidisciplinary fusion science and technology, conducts professional meetings, and disseminates technical information in support of these goals. Members focus on the assessment and resolution of critical developmental issues for practical fusion energy applications.

New edition of IAEA’s Climate Change and Nuclear Power available
The 2024 edition of Climate Change and Nuclear Power has been released by the International Atomic Energy Agency. The 99-page report focuses on the need for a significant increase in investment to achieve goals for expanding nuclear power.
The report: According to the IAEA, the report delves into the financing of nuclear projects as ambitious climate targets draw nearer. It also explores the imperative for financial frameworks to help nuclear energy become a cornerstone of global decarbonization efforts and highlights the challenges and best practices in financing nuclear projects.

As the geopolitical landscape continues to shift, export controls are increasingly important to U.S. national security. As the geopolitics shift, so do some export control requirements, which can help exporters navigate the complexities of this landscape, They can – and should be – integral to the marketing and project management strategies of nuclear energy exporters and those who support them, including national labs, universities, consulting companies and other parts of the nuclear supply chain. In this panel discussion, experts from the U.S. Government will participate in an engaging and informative discussion on the considerations and actions that can streamline exports of nuclear technology, avoid common pitfalls, and take advantage of U.S. Government expertise and resources. And, they’ll tell you everything you always wanted to know about export controls but were afraid to ask.
