Mental health has become an increasingly critical topic in the engineering field, where high stress, a historically rigid culture, and competitive environments can take a significant toll. This session highlights current research on mental health challenges and support systems in engineering education and practice. Panelists will also discuss emerging curricular efforts-such as courses designed to engage engineering students in conversations around emotional intelligence and well-being and examine how industry is responding with new resources, evolving workplace norms, and growing attention to psychological safety. Join us to explore how we can collectively engineer a culture that supports mental health across the profession.
