In recent years, the development and deployment of liquid metal reactors is accelerating as a promising solution to address decarbonization, diversified nuclear application and closed fuel cycle. The industry engagement task force of Thermal-Hydraulics Division is organizing a panel session to engage the nuclear industry to facilitate the development of liquid metal reactors. This panel will focus on the recent progresses and challenges in developing sodium cooled reactor and lead/LBE cooled reactor, fast neutron spectrum or thermal neutron spectrum. The panel topics include the design of reactor, the testing and the analysis supporting the development. Panelists come from well-established nuclear reactor developers, fast-growing startup companies, and industry-oriented organizations.
