Division Spotlight
Nuclear Criticality Safety
NCSD provides communication among nuclear criticality safety professionals through the development of standards, the evolution of training methods and materials, the presentation of technical data and procedures, and the creation of specialty publications. In these ways, the division furthers the exchange of technical information on nuclear criticality safety with the ultimate goal of promoting the safe handling of fissionable materials outside reactors.

During this session, INPO will discuss the state of the industry from a plant reliability standpoint and industry lessons learned to date from reviews of IER-21-04, Improving Plant Reliability. Discussions will focus on consistent themes and lessons learned that have been identified in Organizational Effectiveness, Engineering, Operation, Maintenance and Work Management recommendations. Insights from several recommendations that have been statused as Further Action Required (FAR) will be provided to highlight behavioral gaps that led to that status. Following an update on the lessons learned there will be a discussion on the next phase and what is next to improve plant readability in the industry. The last part of this session will be an open question and answer period.
