Who’s in the running for DOE Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses?
Today is the Department of Energy’s deadline for states to respond to a request for information on proposed Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses. Issued on January 28, the RFI marks the first step toward potentially establishing voluntary federal-state partnerships designed to build a coherent, end-to-end nuclear fuel cycle strategy for the country, including waste management, according to the DOE.
2025 ANS Annual Conference
Dr. Ishita Trivedi is a computational scientist in the Advanced Reactor Design and Technology division at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). Her expertise encompasses multi-physics design and analysis of advanced nuclear technology concepts, such as microreactors, fusion technology, digital twin technology, and nuclear thermal propulsion rockets. Additionally, she is proficient in application of verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification methods and optimization techniques.
Before joining INL, Dr. Trivedi earned her PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the North Carolina State University, specializing in advanced reactor modeling and simulation. She also holds an M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering from the North Carolina State University and a B.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
Within the American Nuclear Society (ANS), Dr. Trivedi serves as the Chair of the Young Members Group (YMG) and the Education Training Workforce Development (ETWD) divisions, and she is an active member on the executive committee for the Reactor Physics Division (RPD). As a passionate advocate for early career professionals, she currently chairs the Early Career Researchers Association (ECRA) at INL.
Outside of her professional achievements, Dr. Trivedi enjoys baking, playing the piano, and engaging in outdoor activities such as backpacking and skiing.
