Aerospace Nuclear Science & Technology
Organized to promote the advancement of knowledge in the use of nuclear science and technologies in the aerospace application. Specialized nuclear-based technologies and applications are needed to advance the state-of-the-art in aerospace design, engineering and operations to explore planetary bodies in our solar system and beyond, plus enhance the safety of air travel, especially high speed air travel. Areas of interest will include but are not limited to the creation of nuclear-based power and propulsion systems, multifunctional materials to protect humans and electronic components from atmospheric, space, and nuclear power system radiation, human factor strategies for the safety and reliable operation of nuclear power and propulsion plants by non-specialized personnel and more.

Nominations open for CNTA awards
Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness is accepting nominations for its Fred C. Davison Distinguished Scientist Award and its Nuclear Service Award. Nominations for both awards must be submitted by August 1.
The awards will be presented this fall as part of the CNTA’s annual Edward Teller Lecture event.

Attendees will hear firsthand accounts of the challenges faced, including navigating complex technical environments and overcoming workplace barriers amid increasing demands for safety and sustainability. Panelists will highlight significant milestones, such as contributions to advanced reactor designs and improvements in safety protocols, while also discussing the strategies they employed to transform obstacles into opportunities through innovative approaches and creative problem-solving. Both personal and collective accomplishments will be showcased to inspire peers and demonstrate the impact of fresh perspectives in the field. The session aims to foster an open dialogue, encouraging questions and shared insights among participants, while emphasizing the importance of collaboration and mentorship in professional growth. By creating a supportive atmosphere, we hope to build connections and mentorship opportunities for future leaders in the nuclear sector.
