The cryogenic distillation system at JET has been successfully commissioned with protium only. The tests have shown that the plant which is based on a special 3 column design proposed by Sulzer may be operated and controlled as required. The design pressures and flow rates have been attained. All automatic control as well as safety related interlocking performed as expected. To demonstrate the separation performance further texts with tritium are needed.
