The move is meant to open new partnership opportunities with OpenAI, where Altman is CEO, and other artificial intelligence companies.

Members of the Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Energy leadership team detailed the DOE's FY2025 budget request to Congress. Activities within the DOE NE support future reactor deployments, development of advanced reactor fuels, waste reduction, and management research, and many other areas that are critical for the longevity of existing, as well as for future, nuclear technologies. Mike Goff, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy, will discuss what the proposed funding means for the future of many important nuclear energy programs and initiatives. A Q&A session will be held following the presentation.
