From Capitol Hill: Nuclear is back, critical for America’s energy future
The U.S. House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy convened its first hearing of the year, “American Energy Dominance: Dawn of the New Nuclear Era,” on January 7, where lawmakers and industry leaders discussed how nuclear energy can help meet surging electricity demand driven by artificial intelligence, data centers, advanced manufacturing, and national security needs.
The Colorado Nuclear Science and Technology Scholarship is awarded annually to a Colorado student pursuing a career in the field of nuclear science and technology. Interests may include: nuclear engineering, nuclear physics, and nuclear medicine. Applicants will be evaluated on academic achievement, a career objectives statement, and letters of recommendation.
The fund was established in November 1999 with an initial $25,000 investment from the ANS Colorado Local Section.
Colorado Local Section (Administered by the Scholarship Policy and Coordination Committee)
A selection committee will be established by the Scholarship Policy and Coordination Committee.
Undergraduate or Graduate (according to merit)
1 awarded annually @ $3000 for graduate-level or $2000 for undergraduate level
The applicant must have demonstrated an interest in pursuing a career in the field of nuclear science and technology.
Must be enrolled in a university in the state of Colorado, including but not limited to:
