For the modeling of the one-dimensional interfacial area transport equation for adiabatic bubbly flow in vertical rod bundles, existing typical sink and source terms were reviewed. Based on the reviewed interactive mechanism of bubbles and turbulent eddies, newly interfacial area transport model with considering the effect of spacer grids has been proposed and evaluated by the experimental data with the mean relative error of 19.9% .
