Swiss nuclear power and the case for long-term operation
Designed for 40 years but built to last far longer, Switzerland’s nuclear power plants have all entered long-term operation. Yet age alone says little about safety or performance. Through continuous upgrades, strict regulatory oversight, and extensive aging management, the country’s reactors are being prepared for decades of continued operation, in line with international practice.
PHDS Co. manufactures and develops high-purity germanium (HPGe) gamma-ray detector systems. All PHDS Co. HPGe detector systems are portable, battery powered, turnkey systems suitable for use in the laboratory, reactor, security site or the field. Fulcrum, Fulcrum-40h, and LoPro product lines provide quantitative gamma-ray spectroscopy with the press of a button. GeGI and NP Imager provide gamma-ray spectroscopy and quantitative gamma-ray imaging to address even the most challenging nuclear materials situations.
