  Argonne’s METL gears up to test more sodium fast reactor components
  Argonne National Laboratory has successfully swapped out an aging cold trap in the sodium test loop called METL (Mechanisms Engineering Test Loop), the Department of Energy announced April 23. The upgrade is the first of its kind in the United States in more than 30 years, according to the DOE, and will help test components and operations for the sodium-cooled fast reactors being developed now.

Volunteer Opportunities

The American Nuclear Society (ANS) Student Conference 2021 is currently looking for moderators and technical support staff for the conference.

Let us know below when you can assist. We ask that you commit to the dates/times chosen as we will be scheduling you for those times. There will be a volunteer meeting/training session as we get closer.

As a volunteer:

Shifts will be 3 hours or less. Of course, if you want to volunteer for longer we can arrange that.
Conference registration is FREE to all ANS National student members. If you are a post-doc, please email itrived@ncsu.edu for a discount code.

The conference dates are April 8-10, and the volunteer shifts will be:

Morning 9 am - 12 noon EST
Afternoon 12 noon - 3 pm EST
Evening 3 pm - 7 pm EST
