Flamanville-3 reaches full power
France’s state-owned electric utility EDF has announced that Flamanville-3—the country’s first EPR—reached full nuclear thermal power for the first time, generating 1,669 megawatts of gross electrical power. Exelon Generation has two primary business units: Exelon Nuclear and Exelon Power. Exelon Nuclear operates America’s largest fleet of nuclear power plants. We’ve had a very strong record of performance for 19 consecutive years, with a 2019 capacity factor of 95.7 percent. The Exelon nuclear fleet is a powerhouse, producing approximately 158 million megawatt-hours of electricity every year.
Exelon Power is responsible for managing, operating and maintaining the company’s fleet of natural gas, hydroelectric, wind, solar, landfill gas and oil assets. Exelon Power provides nearly 12,000 megawatts of safe, efficient, environmentally responsible base load, intermediate and peak power generation.
