IAEA project aims to develop polymer irradiation model
The International Atomic Energy Agency has launched a new coordinated research project (CRP) aimed at creating a database of polymer-radiation interactions in the next five years with the long-term goal of using the database to enable machine learning–based predictive models.
Radiation-induced modifications are widely applicable across a range of fields including healthcare, agriculture, and environmental applications, and exposure to radiation is a major factor when considering materials used at nuclear power plants.
Special Session|Panel
Thursday, October 10, 2024|10:15AM–12:00PM MDT|Room 2 (Special Sessions)
This special session will focus on the crucial contributions of national laboratories to realizing a net-zero nuclear future. Attendees will learn about the labs' groundbreaking research, the development of advanced nuclear reactor technologies, and the vital role of public-private partnerships across different sectors. Participants will gain insights to strategies for decarbonization, improving reactor technologies, and the role of nuclear power within wider clean energy initiatives.
