Light-water cooled Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) offer tremendous potential for near-term deployment due to their simplified design, lower costs and passive safety concepts. While light-water reactor technology is well-understood and has a large supporting database challenges remain. This panel will discuss the thermal-hydraulics of SMR and comment on the technical issues and opportunities.
