DOE issues RFQ for clean-energy projects at WIPP
The Department of Energy has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for interested parties that are looking to establish carbon pollution–free electricity (CFE) projects at its Waste Isolation Pilot Plant site in New Mexico.
The Special Committee on Government Relations was formed to keep abreast of US federal government activity in terms of nuclear science and technology in order to take a proactive approach in providing information to federal government officials and agencies as well as mobilizing members for specific initiatives.
The Special Committee on Government Relations' work is based on the belief that the US federal government should promote a balanced portfolio of energy options that is stable, secure and affordable, with minimal impact on the environment. This portfolio should include a robust program of nuclear energy research, development and demonstration to ensure that nuclear power remains a viable resource to meet future energy needs.
