The variation of the MHD stability boundary is investigated when the ellipticity of the magnetic flux tube in the anchor cells of the GAMMA10 tandem mirror is changed. It is found that the stable region does not change so much when the ellipticity is higher than about fifty, while this region is narrower as the ellipticity is lower than fifty.
