Gov. Sherrill signs bill to begin nuclear procurement in N.J.
On July 13, New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill signed the Power NJ Act, a bill that directs the state’s Board of Public Utilities (BPU), in collaboration with the state’s Economic Development Authority, to establish an “advanced nuclear energy procurement program.”

The paper reviews the milestones in development of axially symmetric magnetic mirrors for plasma confinement. In particular, future prospects of the multi-mirror confinement system and gas-dynamic trap as neutron sources and drivers for fission-fusion hybrids are considered. An emphasis is made on discussion of current status of experimental studies on the GOL-3 and GDT devices in Novosibirsk.
