UW-Madison: A Midwestern nucleus of fission and fusion
With more than six decades as a top-ranked program in its rearview, the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics (NEEP) at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is hardly slowing down. In fact, NEEP is continuing to grow and develop its faculty, curriculum, and research.
International High Level Radioactive Waste Management (IHLRWM 2025)
Corinne Bauer has over 25 years of experience into the French HLW and IL– LLW Deep Geological Repository, Cigéo.
Since 2023, she holds the position of deputy director of the Cigéo program.
Her experience, based on successive positions at Andra, the French national radioactive waste management agency, as geotechnical researcher at Bure URL, lead engineer in charge of phenomenological analysis and performance evaluation, engineer in charge of the design of the underground installations and later manager of the technical-economic coordination with the waste producers-financers, gave her natural leadership in the project final phase of optimization and licence application preparation and instruction. Currently, in view of obtaining the authorization to create Cigéo, Corinne's missions are focused on preparing its realization.
