Chris Wagner: The role of Eden Radioisotopes in the future of nuclear medicine
Chris Wagner has more than 40 years of experience in nuclear medicine, beginning as a clinical practitioner before moving into leadership roles at companies like Mallinckrodt (now Curium) and Nordion. His knowledge of both the clinical and the manufacturing sides of nuclear medicine laid the groundwork for helping to found Eden Radioisotopes, a start-up venture that intends to make diagnostic and therapeutic raw material medical isotopes like molybdenum-99 and lutetium-177.
Educational Session|Panel|Sponsored by Plant Reliability
Monday, August 5, 2024|3:30–5:00PM EDT|Banyan 2
The increasing trend in extreme weather events disrupting the electric grid has resulted in environmental resiliency becoming a focal point for energy providers and regulatory agencies. To this effect, INPO recently release a principles document, INPO 24-003 (Resiliency – Strengthening Defenses Against External Forces) and a Tier 2 guidance document specifically associated with assessing climate vulnerabilities, INPO 24-002 (Climate Vulnerability Assessment).
This session will provide perspective on these INPO documents and discuss next steps for utilities to ensure environmental resiliency. The session will also address a specific challenge one utility is facing due to the changes in the local environment, which is directly affecting the supply of cooling water to the station. Finally, the session will discuss challenges in the management of the seasonal readiness process and potential impacts on plant reliability.
