DOE considers recycling Paducah’s contaminated nickel
The Department of Energy’s Portsmouth Paducah Project Office is weighing options on reprocessing approximately 9,700 tons of contaminated nickel being stored at the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Kentucky.

Several nuclear reactor vendors are racing towards developing advanced nuclear technology demonstration in the coming year. This panel will provide an opportunity to hear from several entities on their recent efforts towards deploying new reactor concepts in the United States and globally. Speakers will provide background on how their respective companies are ‘moving beyond the blueprint’ and ‘pioneering reactor physics for real-world implementations’ as is the theme of this PHYSOR conference.
