Devoted to all aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle including waste management, worldwide. Division specific areas of interest and involvement include uranium conversion and enrichment; fuel fabrication, management (in-core and ex-core) and recycle; transportation; safeguards; high-level, low-level and mixed waste management and disposal; public policy and program management; decontamination and decommissioning environmental restoration; and excess weapons materials disposition.

General Atomics’ SiGA-cladded test rods complete irradiation testing in the ATR
General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) announced last week that unfueled test rods featuring the company’s SiGA fuel cladding—made of a silicon carbide composite material—successfully survived 120 days of irradiation in the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) at Idaho National Laboratory.

Daniele worked as a research engineer at SERMA unit in CEA-Saclay developing and supporting industrial applications on research and commercial reactors. Before that, he developed codes and methods for LWR for the R&D department of AREVA-Paris. He served a large community of users developing engineering applications with a focus on design and safety studies, gaining expertise on mathematical methods and computer codes for the numerical simulation of nuclear reactors.
Daniele holds a PhD in Nuclear Engineering and Energetics obtained in 2010 at Politecnico di Torino.
