DOE selects companies for $94M in light water SMR deployment awards
Eight companies will collectively receive more than $94 million in cost-share funding to expedite the near-term deployment of small light water modular reactors, the Department of Energy announced Thursday.
Space Nuclear Power Corporation, SpaceNukes, was founded to help enable the deployment of fission systems in space. Our founders designed, developed, and tested KRUSTY – the first new US reactor concept in 50 years. That experience uniquely positions us to distinguish between “real” reactors and overtouted “academic” reactors, as explained by Admiral Rickover years ago.
