During this President's Plenary Session we will discuss the theme of "Failure is not an Option" and the challenge of the laborious and expensive licensing process for the civilian use of radioactive materials. The NRC licenses and regulates nuclear energy in the US to ensure public health and safety, defense and security, and environmental protection. The panel will explore how the NRC needs to change to promote energy security and environmental preservation and enable the future of clean, safe, and reliable nuclear energy.
