South Korea looks to Southern and NuScale
This week, the United States and South Korea have taken two steps toward deepening their nuclear partnership through two notable announcements. First, the majority-state owned Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power signed a memorandum of understanding with Birmingham, Ala.–based Southern Nuclear.

The MARVEL reactor is trailblazing a path towards advanced reactor demonstration. It is currently well into its fabrication phase. As a Department of Energy sponsored effort, the project is keen to share lessons learned with the wider community to enable rapid follow-on developments in the commercial sector. To this end, this panel will offer broad perspectives on key insights gained during its rapid development cycle. Panelists will cover lessons learned gained during manufacturing, assembly, testing, and safety basis documentation.
