Description

The Leadership Award recognizes an ANS member for outstanding and sustained service to the Society in the areas of leadership, governance, or direction of the ANS. This award is primarily intended to recognize the services of members of the governance committees of ANS. Multiple awards are possible in a year when exceptionally qualified individuals are nominated.

This award consists of an engraved plaque, which is presented during the ANS Annual Conference.

Background

The ANS Leadership Award was established to recognize substantial contributions over a prolonged period of time. This recognition is made when, in the opinion of the Honors and Awards Committee, the duration and significance of the candidate’s contributions warrant that distinction.

Selection Method

Nominations must include the completed nomination form accompanied by the following supporting documents:

  • A letter of recommendation from the nominator who is knowledgeable about the candidate's contributions to the Society.
  • A narrative summary of about 1,000 words, including a list of ANS positions held and a detailed account of outstanding leadership, governance or direction.
  • Letters of support recommended but not required (no more than five)
