A convenient and relatively inexpensive unit for continuous countercurrent solvent extraction is described and suggestions are made for the use of the unit as a teaching tool in the training of nuclear engineering students in the diffusional processes associated with nuclear fuels processing. The need for such training is emphasized particularly for the heterogeneous groups entering the nuclear engineering field.
