This award was established in 1993 at the request of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan with funds received from earnings from the ANP 1992 Topical Meeting. It is to be made to an individual or individuals who have made original and excellent contributions to the advancement of reactor technology. This award should emphasize recognition of advances in the areas of design and safety in reactor technology.
Any member of the Society can nominate a worthy candidate, and the candidate does not have to be an ANS member. The nominee should be the author of one or more peer-reviewed original technical papers or patents contributing to the advancement of reactor technologies.
