Home / Honors and Awards
This award was established in 1989 to recognize ANS members who have made substantial contributions to the Society over a prolonged period of time. The recipient must be an ANS member with outstanding and sustained service in the areas of leadership, governance or direction of the ANS. This award is primarily intended to recognize the services of members of the governance committees of ANS.
This recognition is made when, in the opinion of the Honors and Awards Committee, the duration and significance of the candidate's contributions warrant that distinction. The nomination must include a list of all ANS positions held, and a detailed account of outstanding leadership, governance, or direction in the national Society. The nature and significance of the activity and the role of the nominee must be briefly described.
The nominations must be endorsed by three sponsors (Fellows, members, emeritus members or honorary life members of the Society).
