Knoxville’s nuclear workshop opens with a full house and a long to-do list
The East Tennessee Economic Council’s Nuclear Opportunities Workshop opened yesterday morning at the Knoxville Convention Center, drawing registrants from around the country, and will close later today following a packed lineup of policy and industry leaders.

Some physical and engineering aspects of a D-3He-fueled fusion power plant based on the pulsatory field-reversed configuration are considered. The results of preliminary technical and economical factors and optimization calculations are given. An increase in the “aneutronics factor” of such a reactor is shown to result in higher costs.
