Knoxville’s nuclear workshop opens with a full house and a long to-do list
The East Tennessee Economic Council’s Nuclear Opportunities Workshop opened yesterday morning at the Knoxville Convention Center, drawing registrants from around the country, and will close later today following a packed lineup of policy and industry leaders.

The feasibility of development of large vacuum components for operation in fusion machines has been investigated in the framework of the European Fusion Technology Programme. The requirements and the results of the feasibility study for the large turbomolecular pump units (TMP) are presented. Design parameters for single flow 50.000 1/s TMP and a double flow 15.000 and a 50.000 1/s TMP have been compared.
