South Korea looks to Southern and NuScale
This week, the United States and South Korea have taken two steps toward deepening their nuclear partnership through two notable announcements. First, the majority-state owned Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power signed a memorandum of understanding with Birmingham, Ala.–based Southern Nuclear.

Possibilities of improving the prospects of utilizing muon-catalyzed fusion are explored from several angles. Specifically, the use of photons to artificially enhance stripping by taking advantage of an enhanced stripping mechanism is suggested. On the muon production side, the use of heavy ions for the production of the parent pions is investigated.
