The American Nuclear Society supports more than 50 college students each year through its Scholarship Program, awarding more than $140,000 annually. Applications for the 2022–2023 academic year are now available, and all ANS student members are encouraged to apply. Recipients will be awarded between $1,000 and $5,000, based on merit and financial need.

The Scholarship Program offers both achievement-based and need-based scholarships to ANS student members, made possible by the generosity of ANS professional divisions, local sections, and individual donors. Over $5 million in scholarships has been distributed since 1979.

How to: Check out Before You Apply for guidance throughout the application process. Completing the General Scholarship Application qualifies students for consideration for more than 24 ANS scholarships.

To increase your chances of receiving a scholarship, explore the various opportunities established by ANS divisions and local sections. Many require answers to a few additional questions to qualify.

Deadlines: Applications for most scholarships, including general undergraduate/graduate scholarships and all division-administered scholarships, are due by February 1. Students applying for the Incoming Freshman Scholarship or participating in a two-year associate degree program must submit their applications by April 1.
