Thermal Hydraulics
The division provides a forum for focused technical dialogue on thermal hydraulic technology in the nuclear industry. Specifically, this will include heat transfer and fluid mechanics involved in the utilization of nuclear energy. It is intended to attract the highest quality of theoretical and experimental work to ANS, including research on basic phenomena and application to nuclear system design.

Orano Med expands its Texas Pb-212 R&D center
Orano Group subsidiary Orano Med, a developer of targeted alpha therapies for oncology, inaugurated the expansion of its main research and development center located in Plano, Texas. The facility is used in the development of radiopharmaceuticals and for conducting preclinical research focused on targeted alpha therapies using lead-212, an alpha-emitting radioisotope that has shown promise in treating various types of cancer.

Am I eligible to join the American Nuclear Society?
Membership in the American Nuclear Society is open to anyone who has studied, worked, or is interested in the nuclear or related fields. If you love nuclear, we have a place for you! Our membership consists of individuals from all walks of life, including engineers, doctors, students, educators, scientists, soldiers, advocates, suppliers, government employees, and many others.
Which membership categories are available to me as a new member?
New members may join as:
Established Member – professionals age 36 & overYoung Member – professionals age 35 & younger, or those having graduated within the last 5 yearsStudent – undergraduate students enrolled at least half-time in school. High school students also welcome!Graduate Student – graduate students enrolled at least half-time in school. Postgraduates and individuals employed full-time while pursuing a PhD do not qualify for Student/Graduate Student membership and are asked to join as an Established or Young Member.
Are Lifetime memberships available?
Yes! Lifetime memberships are available to new or renewing members. Dues rates are based on age:Age 49 & younger - $3,800Age 50-64 - $3,150Age 65 & over - $995
I am a current member. Are there earned membership categories available?
Yes! Members who have 10+ years of continuous membership, are age 60 & over, and are retired may renew as Emeritus members. Please contact the Membership Department to let us know you’ve retired, and we will renew you into this category.
Student members who have at least one year of ANS membership may renew as Recent Graduates. This category is available for one year following graduation. Please keep your graduation date/anticipated graduation date updated on your member profile to ensure this option is offered at the time of renewal.
What is my membership term?
Apart from Lifetime memberships, all memberships are annual and are on an anniversary renewal cycle. You can check your expiration date on your membership account (scroll down to the bottom of the page under the Membership heading). Memberships are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
What subscriptions are included with my membership?
All members receive electronic subscriptions to Nuclear News and Radwaste Solutions magazines, ANS Transactions, ANS Proceedings, Nuclear Standards News, and the Nuclear News Daily.
Members within North America receive mailed copies of Nuclear News and Radwaste Solutions. Please be sure your mailing address is provided on your account to receive your print subscription. All members outside of North America, as well as all domestic and overseas Honorary Life members, may pay a nominal fee to receive print copies.
Members may also pay an additional fee to receive print subscriptions to the technical journals.

Do I receive a member discount on meeting registrations?
Yes! All members receive discounted registration rates for ANS meetings. Your member registration rate can be found on the Registration Fees page of each meeting. Please make sure you're logged into the ANS website using the email address associated with your member account in order to receive the discounted rate. For questions regarding meetings, contact meetings@ans.org.
What portion of dues goes toward lobbying?
American Nuclear Society member dues are not used for contributions to political parties or candidates or for independent expenditures on behalf of parties or candidates. Less than 1/10 of 1.0% (or 0.1%) of dues money goes to lobbying efforts. In the case of someone at the $195 dues level, this would be approximately 19 cents.
Do you have memberships available for corporations and organizations?
Yes! Organizations and corporations which perform work within the nuclear field are eligible for Organization Membership. More information on benefits can be found on our Organization Membership page. Dues rates are based upon number of employees at your organization who are involved in nuclear.
ANS also offers the Trustees of Nuclear program. Join our premier corporate membership program and invest in impactful ANS programs that improve nuclear literacy in our schools, our conversations with policymakers, and our larger public discourse.
