Urenco to add 2.1 million SWU of enrichment capacity at its New Mexico plant
Urenco USA announced today that it will expand its uranium enrichment capacity by nearly 50 percent with the construction of a new enrichment plant at the company’s National Enrichment Facility in Eunice, N.M.

The need for qualified operations personnel is a very real challenge the industry is facing. Licensing Operators takes time and is an investment by the utilities. Many programs have been tried in the past. Short term needs require instituting both recruiting and training measures, both of which have their own challenges. Long term requires outreach at the educational levels as well as marketing our industry. The shortage of available instructors further impacts operations staffing.
