Division Spotlight
Nuclear Criticality Safety
NCSD provides communication among nuclear criticality safety professionals through the development of standards, the evolution of training methods and materials, the presentation of technical data and procedures, and the creation of specialty publications. In these ways, the division furthers the exchange of technical information on nuclear criticality safety with the ultimate goal of promoting the safe handling of fissionable materials outside reactors.

IAEA Director General meets with key nuclear leaders in D.C.
International Atomic Energy Agency director general Rafael Mariano Grossi recently traveled to Washington, D.C., for the first time since Trump took office in January. In his three-day visit to the capital, Grossi spoke with key nuclear leaders from around the world and in the federal government, including Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Nuclear Regulatory Commission chair David Wright, on topics including nuclear power, safety, security, funding, and nonproliferation.

ANS members have free electronic access to all three of ANS's technical journals. For access to articles, members must sign in to the ANS website before clicking through to the Taylor and Francis Online Platform.
Publication in ANS's journals is free of charge.
Optionally, authors can choose to publish their research open access via Open Select, a feature of ANS's publishing partner Taylor & Francis. Open Select requires payment of an article publishing charge (APC) following peer review and acceptance of a submitted manuscript. The APC rate is $2,990 per submission. Articles published Open Select are made freely available to the public upon publication.
