Crystallization temperatures of impure acidic uranyl nitrate solutions have been correlated with the total and free nitrate concentrations. This correlation may be used to predict the solution stability under the varying ambient conditions encountered during transportation and storage and should promote nuclear safety in the handling of uranyl nitrate solutions enriched in 235U.
