Sixteen days of high-power operation following a prolonged low-power irradiation resulted in the same percentage release of fission-product gases as that from UO2 fuel irradiated only at the high power level. The release of fission-product gas during a prolonged low-power cycle was not increased by previous irradiation at higher powers.
