The machine for handling the fuel and control rods of the Prototipo Reattore Organico organic-moderated and -cooled reactor is rugged and simple. It utilizes a pantograph in the vertical plane which pivots about one of its vertical members. Tests on a prototype established the realiability of operation and reproducibility of positioning and suggested minor improvements.
