Investigation of the Fluorine-17 Activity as a Nuclear Power Monitor in the Heavy Water Moderated Reactor DIORIT

In the D₂O moderator of a reactor, a significant ¹⁷F activity is produced by the reaction ¹⁶O(d, n)¹⁷F with recoiling deuterons. Investigations in the DIORIT reactor have shown that this activity can be used within certain limits to monitor the nuclear power.
