A kinetics study has been made of the chemical factors that affect the rate of absorption of CH3I by aqueous sprays. The results suggest that the addition of certain transition metal complexes which promote singlet to triplet electronic transitions in CH3I materially improve the latter’s absorption rate by standard borated water droplets.
