DOE selects first companies for nuclear launch pad
The Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy and the National Reactor Innovation Center have announced their first selections for the Nuclear Energy Launch Pad: three companies developing microreactors and one developing fuel supply.
The four companies—Deployable Energy, General Matter, NuCube Energy, and Radiant Industries—were selected from the initial pool of Reactor Pilot Program and Fuel Line Pilot Program applicants, the two precursor programs to the launch pad.

A nonlinear mathematical model for determining the dynamic response of a pressurized water reactor was developed that incorporates both prompt and delayed temperature feedback. The use of a modified form of Hansen's method of largest eigenvalues was employed to obtain the solution. The novel features of this model are that the nonlinearities are treated explicitly, and the temperature dependence of thermal-hydraulic parameters is preserved without approximation. A comparison of power and temperature transients was made with other work.
