In this paper, we discuss the effect of diffusion on the slowing-down spectrum of neutrons in the upper portion of the thermal regime. We find that in a typical case, the perturbation due to diffusion is comparable to the difference between bound atom and free atom spectra, in the energy range E > 0.1 ev.
