The neutron total and scattering cross sections of elemental palladium were measured to incident energies of ∼ 1.5 MeV. An optical potential was deduced consistent with the present experimental results, with previously reported cross sections at higher energies, and with the minimum in the l=0 strength function in the region of A ≈ 105.
