The effective resonance capture integral of ThO2 has been measured at temperatures of 300 and 1200°K for rods ranging in diameter from 0.4 to 3.0 cm. The measurements were done by an activation technique relative to the dilute resonance integral of thorium. Calculated resonance integrals obtained using current cross sections and calculational methods are found to be in good agreement with the experimental results.
