DOE selects first companies for nuclear launch pad
The Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy and the National Reactor Innovation Center have announced their first selections for the Nuclear Energy Launch Pad: three companies developing microreactors and one developing fuel supply.
The four companies—Deployable Energy, General Matter, NuCube Energy, and Radiant Industries—were selected from the initial pool of Reactor Pilot Program and Fuel Line Pilot Program applicants, the two precursor programs to the launch pad.

An integral transformation technique and the FN method are used to solve, for the case of isotropic scattering, the albedo problem and the internal-source problem relevant to neutron transport theory for a bare cylinder of infinite length. The neutron flux distribution and the neutron current distributions are found with five or six figures of accuracy and are tabulated for selected illustrative cases. In addition, selected results for the albedo are reported with an accuracy of eight to ten significant figures.
