Leading the charge: INL’s role in advancing HALEU production
Idaho National Laboratory is playing a key role in helping the U.S. Department of Energy meet near-term needs by recovering HALEU from federal inventories, providing critical support to help lay the foundation for a future commercial HALEU supply chain. INL also supports coordination of broader DOE efforts, from material recovery at the Savannah River Site in South Carolina to commercial enrichment initiatives.

Recent measurements of relative yields for 95Zr, I25Sb, 137Cs, 14lCe, 144Ce, and I35Eu for fast-neutron fission of samples enriched in the actinides 243,244,246,248Cm have been combined with a simple mass-distribution model to predict complete mass distributions for fast-neutron fission of each of these four curium actinides. Complete descriptions of the data analysis and of the model and its application and limitations are given.
