Deep Fission raises $30M in financing
Since the Department of Energy kicked off a 10-company race with its Nuclear Reactor Pilot Program to bring test reactors on line by July 4, 2026, the industry has been waiting for new headlines proclaiming progress. Aalo Atomics broke ahead of the pack first by announcing last week that it had broken ground on its 50-MWe Aalo-X at Idaho National Laboratory.

The report presents the results of electromagnetic system (EMS) design for the neutron plasma generator based on the gas-dynamic trap. The magnetic field configuration of cusp type is used as a MHD-stabilizer on one of the «behind-the-mirror» zones. Proof is given for the necessity and advantages of the vertical arrangement of the EMS solenoids. Proposals are presented for further EMS design.
NOTE: The studies were made according to the project 492-96 “Plasma neutron Generator based on the Gas Dynamic Trap”. The customer of this project is International Science and Technology Center (ISTC).
